the olympic torch is due to be taken to the summit of everest as part of it's world tour and bejing has insisted that napalese soldiers shoot protesters on sight - the authorities expelled journalists from the base camp of the mountain as part of a ban on reporting and banned climbing near the summit from may 1 to 10

Baitullah Mehsud a senior Taliban commander in Pakistan's tribal areas has declared a ceasefire as part of secret peace talks with the new civilian-led government. Mehsud has posted leaflets across his mountain redoubt in the lawless South Waziristan tribal area, ordering fighters to halt attacks on Pakistani security forces or face severe punishment. The pause is a triumph for Yusuf Raza Gilani's new government which has promised to tackle militancy through dialogue. But get this - the White House spokeswoman Dana Perino has said "we have been concerned about these types of approaches because we don't think they work"

a new feature is being added to revolution web-radio - guest dj's will be recording mixes which will be featured on the web-radio - the first mix is being loaded up here at vox first and will soon be available for neighbours and group members only - the first mix has been recorded by a dj that's been running mixes for two decades now and hopefully this will become a weekly event - copies may be offered up and there may also been the chance to get your hands on the original tracks as well.
